Last Month in America so far...

December...The last month of 2014, and the last month of our Home Assignment. In less than two weeks, we are leaving on a jet plane, bound for Asia.
So...when we haven't been packing, shipping boxes and preparing for our new ministry location and language in the Philippines, we have spent our time reading....
catching up on school...
Taking lots of hikes around the campus and in the woods...
Decorating a genuine REAL Christmas tree for the first time in the kids lives...
braving the sub-72 degree weather....
The boys have been decoding the wonderful world of mathematics, and LOVING it! :)
We got to see Auntie Holly, Uncle Dan and Happy....who is soon to be born. Just not soon enough....we'll have to wait to meet her.
Had the first Tiegs family pictures in years...
still young...
Hangin' out with Uncle Dan...
And, all ready and psyched for Uncle Bran and Auntie Bethany's wedding. As you can see, pure delight for the girls, pure torture for the boys...The boys told Brian right after the wedding that they are never gonna get married...they're just going to travel a lot...
Beautiful chapel on a hill for the wedding.
Beautiful date for the wedding. (Brian is writing this...)
And, the boys continue to use their twinly skills to obtain what is needed. The best part is that Slater is still playing a game on mommy's phone while being used as a human stool.
Siblings after the ceremony...
And, the whole fam.
The kids are super excited to greet their new cousin...but they will probably see her for the first time in the Philippines.
Thankfully, we got one last snow for the kiddos. Wasn't  much, but it was enough.
Last family shot in the snow for a LONG time.
Self-portrait of husband, wife, snow, coffee.
The girls got to make a special trip to Nashville to see the Nutcracker! Super awesome...Asia and Skye sat spellbound for the entire performance.
Brian got to take one last trip to Minnesota to see family. So glad to see Grandpa and Agnes, and SO thankful that she is recovering well after her crazy accident (getting hit by a car while they were walking on a boat dock. Somebody hit the gas instead of the brake).
The kiddos worked on making their own books...
And, the boys are starting to read books!!

While the girls were off watching the ballet, the boys took a lot of hikes, all over the hills.
We also continued reading through our books about early aviation adventures. (copyright 1928)
Grampy came along hiking, and we discovered some cool rock formations on the way.
And, the boys spent some time in the old cedar tree...

It's been a good last month in America...We're gonna miss the fam, but we are ready to get on the plane, and head back to our other home.
